Bambu Studio 2.8.2 makes pause timing visible and trims prime towers
The August public release adds pause estimates, filament notes and A2L timing tools, with printer firmware still needed for some functions.

Bambu Lab published Studio 2.8.2 on August 14, 2026. Its print-progress display can show scheduled pauses and estimate when the next intervention is due, helping users prepare embedded magnets, inserted parts or manual color changes.[1]
The display tracks the total pauses, those already triggered and up to five upcoming pause markers. Hovering over a marker reveals its estimated arrival time. This requires compatible printer firmware: the release names H2S 01.02.50.00 as the minimum and says other machines will gain support through later firmware updates.[1]
An experimental “No sparse layers” setting in Developer Mode reduces prime-tower material when color changes happen only higher in a model. It skips intermediate tower layers, but depends on the tower’s position relative to the object. Longer Z moves back to the model can increase oozing or stringing.[1]
Filament Manager gains searchable spool notes. Assembly Guide adds undo and redo, while organic tree supports receive internal lightning reinforcement. For A2L, Studio improves AMS-change timing estimates and shows thermal preconditioning zones on the bed; those A2L functions require firmware 01.01.01.00.[1]
Update — September 16: The official H2S 01.02.50.00 public-beta announcement followed in September. The slicer release therefore did not make its firmware-dependent pause display immediately available on every printer in August. Owners should check their model’s firmware before relying on the new timing display.[2]
