Bambu Lab opens R1 preorders and details its laser accessories

The September 22 launch introduces a 55W CO₂ cutter and engraver, with conveyor, rotary and air-treatment options.

Bambu Lab launched the R1 and opened preorders on September 22, 2026. The standalone CO₂ laser cutter and engraver uses a 55W laser and a standard 600 × 300mm work area. Its announced US price was $2,499 before tax, with shipping included; shipments were planned to begin in October.[1]

The launch also names a riser base, conveyor, rotary attachment, medium- and long-focus lenses, and a Vision Encoder for motion calibration. The conveyor accommodates material up to 3,000mm long. E1 Pro air purification and an automatic fire-extinguishing system provide additional options for the workspace.[1]

Configuration affects operating requirements: Bambu Lab classifies the standard enclosed machine as Class 1, while the riser or conveyor leaves the enclosure incomplete and creates Class 4 conditions. The preorder date and planned shipping month do not establish delivery dates for every accessory.[1]
